Let’s Talk Site C public consultation wins business award

first_imgThe Gold Quill Award is considered the Association’s highest recognition, given to those with the most innovative business communication ideas. The Let’s Talk Site C campaign, developed with Urban Systems, saw public consultation on the proposed dam through one-on-one talks in public parks, and dialogue on a website. At the centre was a community survey located at www.placespeak.com under the topic Let’s Talk Site C, where residents could find information, view videos, and participate in discussions about protecting the best interests of the city. At the end of the consultation period, the community’s interests were presented as a position paper to B.C. Hydro. The panel of IABC judges who evaluated the engagement program said, “The work was well designed and is likely to help build on the reputation that the City seeks in light of the guiding principles set out in the communication and engagement strategy: transparency, responsiveness, innovation and integrity.” – Advertisement -The City is embarking on a similar venture for its public consultation on the recently proposed boundary extension. Residents can provide feedback on a website, and participate in pubic open houses on the matter.last_img
