Ball State Helps Fund OA Business Department

first_imgBusiness/Journalism Teacher Johnathon Maple is using additional funding to improve classroom experience.OLDENBURG – Business and journalism students at Oldenburg Academy are experiencing a new classroom environment this school year as a result of two grant awards.Ball State University awarded OA Business/Journalism Teacher Johnathon Maple with the 2014 Ball State Teachers College Alumni Society Innovative Grant.Also helping with the 4-year classroom renovation plan, the Will and Dot Ricke Fund through the Decatur County Community Foundation helped fund the upgrades.Through these grants, thirty office chairs could be purchased and installed for the start of the school year.Maple, the 2014 Colin Goodnight Technology Educator of the Year, was also able to use prize money to purchase an Apple TV, and 55” flat screen television for his classroom.“Truly, I am so grateful for all of the help and support of the granting organizations – students are having the opportunity to have be challenged and inspired in a 21st century business classroom – awesome preparation for college,” Maple commented.The new office chairs accompany conference room tables simulating a real-world business conference room.last_img
